The NZ Army Hut at Omori, Lake Taupo
I have had a request for any information, including photos of the NZ Army hut that was located at Omori (Southern end of Lake Taupo), which was mainly used by soldiers who were keen fishermen.

Dear Fellow Gunners
Greg Thwaite has called in a few favours and used a few contacts to achieve something of a coup (not seriously!). Prince Charles and Camilla will be attending our remembrance service on Sunday morning at the Auckland Museum and Greg is trying to establish the likelihood of a group photo of RNZA Assn members with HRH after the service.

SMITH, Ronald Jack (RJ). RNZA.WO2 Reg No. 462698. Aged 77. Passed peacefully at home on 23 October 2012 surrounded by his family, after a bravely fought battle. As Ron wished, a private family service has been held.

I would like to thank your national executive committee and president Don McIver. Don has been a tireless advocate for veterans for the last few years. As Prime Minister I have the privilege of meeting many veterans and hearing your remarkable stories.
