"At 11AM on Thursday 21 May North Fort will be the venue for the formal opening of the Defence of Sydney Museum, the RAAHC Library and the new North Head Visitors Centre, located in the refurbished former library building.  All three facilities are of significance to the RAAHC because the majority of the equipments on display in the Museum have been loaned by the Company; the Library is home to our extensive collection of reference material; and the Visitors Centre will have its display area named the Whitelaw Room, in honour of the Whitelaw family's long and enduring contribution to the RAA and the Company.

The opening is being organised by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust and the host will be Mr Geoff Bailey, SHFT's Chief Executive.  The Guest of Honour for the opening will be the Hon Bob Baldwin, MP and other distinguished guests will include the Chair of the RAAHC, Major General Tim Ford, AO (Retired).
