Greetings to all Wellington based Gunners!

Gunners’ Day 2016 (Thursday 26 May 2016) will be one of the most significant days in our lives – it marks the 300th anniversary of the Granting of the Royal Charter to the Royal Regiment of Artillery (our parent regiment).

As usual there will be a short Commemorative Service at the National War Memorial (Pukeahu) at Midday, followed by an opportunity for some fellowship in a local hostelry.

To mark this particularly important anniversary, it is proposed that a semi-formal dinner for Gunners, their wives, spouses, partners or ‘significant others’ be held at a suitable hotel in central Wellington that evening. At this stage, to allow some planning to be done, I am seeking ‘expressions of interest’ from Gunners in attending this dinner – this is NOT a firm commitment now, but just to permit suitable venues to be canvassed and prices etc established. If sufficient interest is shown, a booking will be made, and then a firm commitment (and payment) will be required (probably in about late March).

Please email me (david.elizabeth@xtra.co.nz) indicating whether you would be interested in attending this dinner, and if you will be accompanied. I would appreciate if you could advise me by Monday 8 February of your interest (we will be away for a time in late January).
