Good morning one and all,
Lynn Culhane has just sent me a photo of Bevan’s plaque and Lynn wanted it to be sent to everyone I knew who might have known and served with Bevan.
Rest in peace my old mate, you really made a difference to all of our lives.
Sadly on Monday morning Ralph Belchamber passed away on the 5th December 2016, peacefully at Auckland Hospital. Ralph was a very long serving member of 4 mdm battery .
On December 3, 2016 at Colwyn House, Hastings. Aged 92 years.
St Barbara’s Day was celebrated at “Trenches Restaurant & Bar” (RSA) Christchurch, lunchtime and later on 4 December 2016.

Fellow Gunners, Warning Order. 163 Bty will perform the 1812 Overture with the NZ Army Band this Saturday 3 Dec at the Palmerston North Square from 1730 to 1800 hrs (a first I believe).
It is with regret we note the passing of Jim Fatt RNZA.
Jim served in 163 Bty 16 FD REGT in KOREA.

CONFIRMED: ST BARBARA’S DAY IN CANTERBURY, SUNDAY 4 DECEMBER 16
WHAT: It is planned to have an informal lunch time (that could lead to all day) gathering to celebrate St Barbara’s Day in Christchurch.

You may recall that I am on the Auckland Coastal Defence Historical Trust as a founding trustee. We have tourism rights to North Head and Fort Takapuna from DOC, the essential part of which is the keys to the various gunner tunnels.
`The Aussies are still here!
